The School of Chemistry originated from the Dyeing and Chemical Department of Hebei Textile Engineering Institute in 1958. After 40 years of development, it was established as the Department of Chemistry in 2000. To promote the high-quality development of the school's cause, and implement the development strategy of strengthening engineering, optimizing sciences, refining liberal arts, and promoting them in a coordinated manner, the School of Chemistry of Tiangong University was established in December 2020. As part of the implementation of the reform of the department system and the continuous advancement of the modernization of the university's governance system, the School of Chemistry was incorporated into the Department of Sciences. The School of Chemistry is led by Professor Liu Yi, winner of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and Vice President of Tiangong University, who serves as Dean of the School. Since its establishment, the School has upheld the school's ethos of rigor, strictness, pragmatism, and truth-seeking. It motivates learning and ethical behavior, and pursues excellence.
